On 18–19 September 2025, EDU-LAB was represented by Prof. Xhavit Rexhaj at the 11th International Workshop on Efficiency in Education, Health, and Other Public Services in Budapest, Hungary. The event was hosted by the EFFEct Horizon Europe project team, coordinated by Professor Kristof De Witte at the Centre for Economic and Regional Studies.
Prof. Xhavit Rexhaj, from AAB College in Prishtina and team leader of EDU-LAB in Kosovo, contributed actively to the scientific programme.
During the scientific sessions, Prof. Rexhaj delivered a presentation titled “(In)Efficiency of the Education System in Kosovo and Its Implications for Students and Their Families.” His talk introduced the EduLab Project, examined the performance of Kosovo’s pre-university education through the lens of educational effectiveness research, and explored its impact on families and student choices. The presentation sparked thought-provoking questions and a rich exchange of ideas among participants. In addition, Rexhaj moderated one of the break-out sessions.
Beyond his own contribution, he attended multiple sessions of high scientific rigor and engaged in networking opportunities with experts from across Europe. A highlight of the workshop was the keynote by Professor Benjamin Castelman (University of Virginia), who shared insights on student advisory services in the United States.
The event provided an excellent platform to showcase the work of AAB College and the EduLab Horizon Europe Project, while also creating opportunities for building partnerships and future cooperation under European Commission programs in higher education and research.
