EDU-LAB Scientific Results Presentation and Stakeholder Roundtable

On 27 October 2026, AAB College organized the EDU-LAB Scientific Results Presentation and Stakeholder Roundtable, bringing together representatives of higher education institutions, public authorities, civil society organizations, local trusted partners, a number of youth who participated in the WP 4 research , and other relevant stakeholders to discuss young people's educational pathways, transitions to the labor market, and related policy challenges in Kosovo.

The event was organized aiming to disseminate preliminary research findings from the Kosovo case study and facilitate dialogue between researchers and stakeholders on the challenges and opportunities shaping young people's transitions from education to employment.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by Dr. Sc. Blerim Olluri, Rector of AAB College, followed by three research presentations highlighting different dimensions of the EDU-LAB findings.

Prof. Ass. Dr. Vrullim Buja presented an overview of existing data sources in Kosovo, identifying their strengths and limitations in capturing educational pathways and transitions to employment. Prof. Ass. Dr. Arbëresha Qerimi explored expert perspectives on the challenges faced by young people and the education system, while Prof. Assoc. Dr. Arbërore Bicaj focused on young people's experiences, highlighting the importance of listening to youth voices and examining whether individual resilience is sufficient without stronger institutional support.

A central component of the event was the interactive stakeholder roundtable, "From Education to Employment: Challenges and Solutions." The discussion brought together external stakeholders from educational institutions, public authorities, and civil society organisations, including representatives of the University of Gjakova "Fehmi Agani", the Kosovo Pedagogical Institute, municipal education authorities, SOS Children's Villages Kosovo, and Voice of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptians (VoRAE).

The roundtable focused on four interconnected themes: labour market skills and expectations, employment barriers and inequalities of opportunity, career guidance and institutional cooperation, and the role of young people's perspectives in developing practical solutions.

The discussion provided an opportunity for participants to exchange experiences, reflect on the preliminary research findings, and contribute perspectives from their respective institutional and professional contexts. Particular attention was given to strengthening connections between education and employment, improving institutional support mechanisms for young people, and encouraging cooperation among educational institutions, policymakers, employers, and civil society organisations.
